Your server URL
Everything connects to one address. Chat apps authenticate by signing you in — no key to manage:
https://evidencecopilot.com/api/mcpSetup by app
Claude Desktop
The most common choice — chat with your cases in the Claude app.
- Open Settings → Connectors (or Extensions) in Claude Desktop.
- Choose Add a custom connector and paste the server URL below.
- Click Connect — a browser window opens on evidencecopilot.com. Sign in and click Allow.
- Done. Ask Claude things like “list my cases” or “in State v. Morgan, where does the bodycam contradict the report?”
ChatGPT (Connectors)
For firms already living in ChatGPT.
- In ChatGPT, open Settings → Connectors → Create (advanced / custom connector).
- Paste the server URL below as the MCP endpoint and save.
- Start a chat with the connector enabled and sign in when prompted.
- Grant access — ChatGPT can then search your evidence read-only.
Claude Code
For attorneys and clerks who work in the terminal.
- In Evidence Copilot, open Settings → Billing → MCP access and create a token.
- Copy the one-line setup command shown under the token (it embeds your key).
- Paste it into your terminal. Claude Code can now call your cases.
Cursor, Zed, VS Code & other MCP clients
Any client that speaks Streamable HTTP MCP with OAuth.
- Add a new MCP server in your client's settings.
- Use the server URL below with transport type HTTP.
- Authenticate when prompted — the same sign-in screen as Claude Desktop.
What the connected app can and cannot do
- It can: list your cases, search transcripts and documents, read transcript windows around any timestamp, and build citations that link back to the exact moment in the source.
- It cannot: modify evidence, redact, export, send email, or see anything outside the cases you already access. The connection is read-only by design.
- Your control: every request is audit-logged. Disconnect any app any time in Settings → Billing → MCP access → Connected apps — access dies immediately.
- Confidentiality: connections inherit exactly your permissions, and each user connects their own apps to their own cases.
The MCP server is read-only today. Write actions (notes, timelines, flags) stay in the workspace where the human-review gates live.
